(A) My new apartment is really convenient for commuting to work.

(B) Mary and her sister just bought two new winter coats at the clearance sale.

(C) Jennifer is thinking of traveling around the world after graduation.

(D) The candidate as well as his supporters were pleased with the results of the last election.

_______________________________________________________________________

A as well as B 에서 주어는 동사랑 떨어져 있는 앞의 A 명사입니다.

the candidate이 맞아요.

A를 his supporters로 말을 했을까요?

Although only a small percentage of the electromagnetic radiation that is emitted by the Sun is ultraviolet(UV) radiation, the amount that is emitted would be enough (A)to cause severe damage to most forms of life on earth (B)were it all to reach the surface of the earth. Fortunately, all of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation does not reach the earth (C)because of a layer of oxygen, called the ozone layer, (D)encircling the earth in the stratosphere at an altitude of about 15 miles above the earth. The ozone layer absorbs much of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation and prevents it (E)to reach the earth.

이 문제 정답을 (E) to reach를 from reaching으로 고쳐야 하는 것은 맞췄는데요!

혹시 amount가 가산/불가산명사라서 that is~가 수식하고 were it all이 본동사인가요?

Eryximachus, a doctor, whose fussy officiousness is ① portrayed with admirable humor,

then proposes that instead of the usual entertainment by flute-girls the company ② amuses itself with ③ talk, and that this shall take the form of a speech from each member of the company ④ in praise of love.

the Sun’s ultraviolet radiation and prevents it (E) to reach the earth.

If it were all~

-> Were it all ~ + S would [could, might] + 동사원형

2.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Eryximachus, a doctor, whose fussy officiousness is ① portrayed with admirable humor,

then proposes that instead of the usual entertainment by flute girls the company ② amuses itself

with ③ talk, and that this shall take the form of a speech from each member of the company

④ in praise of love.

________________________________________________________________________________________

One Stop Finish 2 +

ing와 p.p.

falling leaves

growing children 자라나는 아이들 / grown man 성인

그러나 happen, sit , remain, consist of등은

1. today, () keeps women from the top ranks of their professions is a fear that they will not perform enough

에서 제가 헷갈리는 것은 that part와 part of what 이었습니다. part of what이 정답이라고 한 것은 이해가 됩니다. 허나 that part는 왜 정답이 안 되는 것일까요? that절을 문장 전체의 주어로 보고 part가 that절의 주어, keeps가 that절 동사 women이 that절의 목적어 from the top ranks of their professions이 women을 수식해주는 전치사구로 봐도 맞지 않나요??

2. for centuries, people have debated "nature versus nurture." this questions how much of () is due to genetics and hoe much to environment. 에서 빈칸에 들어갈 정답이 who we are이었습니다.

3. Alice found an ancient manuscript the last few pages of which were severely damaged에서 of which다음에는 완전한 절이 나와야 하는 거 아닌가요?

today, __________ keeps women from the top ranks of their professions is a fear that they

will nor perform enough.

-> (A) Part of what           (B) that part

______________________________________________________________________________

Part [of what keeps women from the top ranks of their professions] is a fear [that they

will nor perform enough]

what 뒤에 주어가 빠진 불완전문장이 되서 keeps women from the top ranks of their professions까지가

what절입니다.

- this questions how much of [              ] due to genetics and how much to environment.

______________________________________________________________________________

e.g. This is the man [to whom I gave the present.]

3.

______________________________________________________________________________

Alice found an ancient manuscript the last few pages of which were severely damaged.

= Alice found an ancient manuscript of which the last few pages were severely damaged.

= Alice found an ancient manuscript whose last few pages were severely damaged.

______________________________________________________________________________

of which 앞이나 뒤에 the 명사가 보이면 whose구조를 떠올려야 합니다.

N whose + 명사

=N of which the + 명사

= N the + 명사 of which
